PTG1: High-Pressure Transmission Gas Pipeline Leading from Bosanski Brod via Doboj and Maglaj to Zenica

Project Location:

B&H / FB&H, RS and Brčko District

Project Aim:

Project Priority:

Priority Project

A new route of supplying Bosnia & Herzegovina with natural gas with a possibility of diversifying the sources of supply, increasing security of supply of the existing transmission system of Bosnia & Herzegovina, extending market and increasing natural gas competitiveness. By construction of this gas pipeline, the transmission system of B&H would be connected to the natural gas transmission system of the Republic of Croatia by the gas pipeline leading from Slavonski Brod to Donji Miholjac and further to the gas pipeline system of Hungary up to possible route of so-called Nabucco Project.

Project Character:

Regional / State Project

Project Description:

billion m3

Project Documentation: Pre-feasibility Study completed; preparation of Main Designs and Environmental Impact Assessment are necessary.

Project realization: reconciliation between the Ministries of Energy of both Entities in the form of a Letter of Intent is under way.

The starting point of the Bosanski Brod – Zenica gas pipeline is in close vicinity of Bosanski Brod where it should be connected to the high-pressure gas pipeline leading from Zagreb via Kutina to Slavonski Brod in the Republic of Croatia. The closing point of the gas pipeline is in Zenica where it should be connected to the existing gas pipeline leading from Zvornik to Sarajevo and Zenica.  The route of this gas pipeline is planned to follow a highway to be constructed, namely the route of the Vc corridor. Branch lines leading to the cities in the Federation of B&H, such as Maglaj, Žepče and Zavidovići are included in the total length of the gas pipeline.

Estimated Construction Cost:

Total investments are estimated at:

16-inch variant:    45 Million EURO

20-inch variant:    57 Million EURO

Note: The total investments include necessary metering and regulating stations for the cities of Zenica, Zavidovići, Žepče and Maglaj.

Project Location:

FB&H; Zenica – Doboj Canton

Project Aim:

Project Priority:

Priority Project

The introduction of natural gas as a new energy form would create the conditions for further market expansion. Stress is placed on exploring the possibilities of applying new technologies (combined heat and power (CHP) generation) and on natural gas applications (for cooling, hot-water preparation, natural gas in transportation applications) in order to reach the consumption of annual volumes as evenly as possible.
