According to the current legal framework, BH-Gas is designated as the transmission system operator in the Federation of BiH, which is also responsible for the development of the transmission gas network. In this sense, in cooperation with the relevant Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry, we perform regular activities on research, assessment and implementation of projects that will enable access to new sources, routes and markets of natural gas.

- Southern interconnection of BiH and Croatia – Posušje-Novi Travnik with a branch to Mostar
- Northern interconnection of BiH and Croatia – Brod-Zenica
- Western interconnection of BiH and Croatia – Tržac-Bosanska Krupa with branches to Bihać and Velika Kladuša
Advantages of implementing new interconnection projects

- Ensuring security of natural gas supply to BiH (N-1)
- Fulfillment of the requirements from the Energy Community Treaty (reliable and secure supply, integration of the internal market, connection with the market of neighboring countries)
- Creation of conditions for access to new sources of natural gas and storage capacities of countries from the region, and better connection with European gas hubs
- Market expansion along the existing ttransmisson route by connecting new consumers
- Creating the condition that natural gas is used as a transition fuel in order to fulfill the set goals of decarbonization
- Achieving climate neutrality by creating conditions for the safe transport of other gases in accordance with the EU Green Deal
- Gasification of new parts of BiH
- Faster economic growth of Bosnia and Herzegovina
A developed gas infrastructure represents a significant potential for decarbonization and achieving climate neutrality. Therefore, BH-Gas is committed to taking the necessary steps to be ready for future challenges and tasks in the transport of other types of low carbon gases.
